Recently, a homeowner in Valley Bend, WV, noticed an alarming issue—water was consistently making its way into their basement, creating a damp and unwelcoming space. They reached out to us at Alford Foundation & Crawl Space Repair, hoping we could find a solution to this headache. Once our Appointment Center had the details, we scheduled a visit to the house.
Solution
Our Solution Specialist carried out a thorough inspection of the basement. The issue was clear: water intrusion through the walls and floor joints. Luckily, we had just the fix. We recommended a combination of our proven products: WaterGuard, CleanSpace, and IceGuard. WaterGuard, a perimeter drainage system, redirects incoming water. CleanSpace, a vapor barrier, shields the walls, further preventing moisture or mold build-up.
Lastly, IceGuard was installed to ensure that, even in the freezing Valley Bend winters, the system would function without blockages. Our production team then sprang into action. Cutting a small trench around the perimeter for the WaterGuard, attaching the CleanSpace to the walls, and finally, installing the IceGuard externally. Each step was executed efficiently and with minimal disruption. Upon completion, the homeowner saw a remarkable transformation.
The basement was finally dry, and the atmosphere within had shifted to one of comfort and relief. Our comprehensive approach not only solved the initial problem but safeguarded the home against future water issues.
